We’re always hunting for the quick fix.
We’ve been conditioned to think this way. Have a problem? There’s a pill for that.
It’s made us “lazy.”
And comfortable.
We start believing that transformation should be easy.
I think one of our biggest challenges is our addiction to comfort. When discomfort arises, we reach for the familiar escape routes.
So we indulge. Over consume. Over work.
For years I lived on this pendulum, grinding at a job that drained me, then numbing out every chance I got. Netflix, wine, the next vacation…whatever would help me escape.
But you know what actually works?
The unsexy stuff that few people want to do:
Getting good sleep.
Eating whole foods.
Doing work we find meaningful.
Moving our bodies.
Meditating.
Having intimacy and deep connection in our lives.
That’s it. Undramatic. Deeply effective.
So here’s my invitation: if you’re feeling off balance, start here. Try doing some of these simple things and watch how much better you feel.
XO
